FAQs for Patients
What safety measures do you have in place for COVID-19?
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our offices follow infection control recommendations made by the ADA, CDC & OSHA. We continue to closely monitor the recommendations of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance. We have made some changes to our already strict infection control protocols. This includes adding surgically clean air purifiers to both of our locations that are among the most advanced stand-alone medical purifiers. They kill germs and viruses removing particles including allergens. In addition, these purifiers re-energize stale indoor air to make breathing easier. Our offices will communicate with you ahead of your appointment to ask some screening questions and go over any questions you may have.
Do you provide air purification?
Yes, we provide the some of the most advanced stand-alone medical and surgically clean air purifiers at both of our locations. They kill germs and viruses and remove parrticles, including allergens. In addition, these purifiers re-energize stale indoor air to help you breathe easier.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes! We are always accepting new patients at both our offices in Montgomery and Conroe. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you!
Do you have same-day appointment availability?
Yes, if you call by 12 p.m., we will see you the same day. Your time is valuable, which is why we reserve appointment times exclusively for you with no double booking.
What types of services do you offer?
Our practice performs dental fillings, root canal therapy, tooth extractions, as well as place dental crowns, dental implants, dental bridges and dentures. We also provide orthodontics and TMJ treatment to help you find relief from headaches, migraines and sleep apnea issues.
How long do dental implants last, and is there a need for special care?
Dental implants can last for decades or even a lifetime with proper care. Unlike natural teeth, they don’t decay, but maintaining good oral hygiene and attending regular dental check-ups are crucial for their longevity. While no special care is needed beyond regular oral hygiene practices like brushing and flossing, avoiding habits like smoking and leading a healthy lifestyle can further enhance the lifespan of dental implants.
Are dental implants a suitable option if I need to replace multiple missing teeth?
Yes, dental implants can be an excellent solution for replacing multiple missing teeth. Depending on the specific situation, our dental team might recommend implant-supported bridges or implant-supported dentures. Implant-supported bridges use implants as anchors to replace a section of missing teeth, while implant-supported dentures provide stability and improved function compared to traditional removable dentures. These options restore both the aesthetics and functionality of your smile.
What constitutes a dental emergency, and when should I seek urgent dental care?
A dental emergency involves any sudden, severe, or painful oral issue that requires immediate attention. Examples include severe toothache, knocked-out teeth, broken or cracked teeth, oral infections, and excessive bleeding. If you experience intense pain, bleeding, trauma, or any other concerning dental problem, it’s important to seek urgent dental care with our dental team. After-hours issues? Our phones are answered 24/7 by a friendly team member, not an answering service.
What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?
If a tooth is knocked out, it’s crucial to act quickly. Hold the tooth by the crown (top), avoiding touching the root, and gently rinse it with milk or saline solution to clean off debris. Try to reinsert the tooth back into the socket if possible and hold it in place using gentle pressure or by biting on a clean cloth. If reinsertion isn’t possible, place the tooth in a container of milk or your saliva and get to our dental office as soon as possible. Time is of the essence for successful reattachment, so seeking immediate dental care is vital.
Can veneers fix crooked teeth without braces or orthodontic treatment?
Veneers can provide the appearance of straighter teeth to some extent, but they are not a substitute for orthodontic treatment like braces or aligners. Veneers are more suitable for correcting minor misalignments, such as slightly crooked or overlapping teeth. If your misalignment is significant, our dentists may recommend orthodontic treatment first to properly align your teeth, followed by veneers to enhance the final aesthetic result. A comprehensive evaluation with our dental team will help determine the best approach for your specific case.
Are dental veneers suitable for everyone, and what are the alternatives?
Dental veneers are a versatile cosmetic option, but they may not be suitable for everyone. Individuals with significant tooth decay, gum disease, or insufficient tooth enamel may not be ideal candidates. Additionally, those who require major orthodontic corrections may benefit more from orthodontic treatments like braces or aligners. Alternatives to veneers include teeth whitening, dental bonding, or a combination of orthodontic treatment followed by veneers for optimal results. A consultation with our dental team will help determine the most appropriate solution for your unique needs.
How long does it take to see results from cosmetic dentistry procedures?
The timeline for cosmetic dentistry results varies depending on the specific procedure. Teeth whitening often provides noticeable results after a single session, while more extensive treatments like veneers or orthodontics may take several weeks to months to achieve the desired outcome. Our dental team will provide a detailed treatment plan and timeline during your consultation, outlining the steps and approximate timeframes for each procedure.
